Workshops in Stratford upon Avon

Our recent two day workshops inStratforduponAvonwere a major successful. Over the two days we had 22 individual practitioners attend the two workshops. The workshops covered the treatment of TMJ pain and dysfunction and also the treatment of chronic headaches and cervical spine dysfunction.

The purpose of the workshop covering TMJ pain and dysfunction was to look at how we can help patients by having a greater understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the TMJ and surrounding soft tissue.

As discussed during the course dentists have been advised to find a ′good physiotherapist′ to help their patients with TMJ pain and dysfunction. The practice we taught during this weekend enabled us to move away from invasive protocol.

We looked at how MET′s can switch muscles back into function, massage strokes to realign muscle and communication skills to discover underlying stress factors that may be evident in their lives.

The second day was dedicated to the treatment of chronic headaches and cervical spine dysfunction. As discussed during this workshop chronic headaches can often develop from old whiplash injuries which have been treated unsuccessfully on initial injury. This results in leaving the patient with a build up of lesions and adhesion, along with restricted movement.

We also looked into Cervicogenic headaches that are associated with cervical spine dysfunction, which can lead to facial pain. We investigated the relationship between the C.spine and the shoulder girdle.

We felt this workshop gave the attendees confidence in assessing and treating these chronic conditions.

The feedback from the attendees both old and new was very positive:
